Knit Set

"This knit set was created as my final assignment for my Knit Structures class at Pratt Institute. The two components are a low-rise wrap mini skirt and an underwire balconette bra-style top with a coordinating bow in the back. This piece features a combination of hand-knit and crochet techniques, and is made of a wool, mohair, and alpaca blend. I thought it would be interesting to take knit garments, typically reserved for the Fall/ Winter seasons, and bring them into Spring/Summer. I executed this by preserving the materiality but altering the style by taking inspiration from lingerie to create something new and somewhat unconventional."
